Motel Voucher Program Qualifications

Bernalillo County Behavioral Health Initiative (BHI) has provided Hopeworks with a motel voucher funding program for individuals experiencing homelessness, near homelessness and other uninhabitable living situations. Below are the qualifications to enter this program. This Motel Voucher is good for UP to 2 Consecutive Weeks, once per year. See information below.

• Individuals must be chronically homeless, precariously housed, residing in a place not meant for human habitation, OR are exiting an institution (BH Hospital, Jail, Prison, or a DV Shelter)
• Individual MUST be receiving Behavioral Health Services at Hopeworks OR in the Community and be verifiable
• Individuals MUST be in the process of gaining assistance (SNAP, SSI/SSDI, TANF, Seeking Employment, Working with DVR, Applying for Benefits)
• Individuals MUST agree to meet with Support Staff on a weekly basis to further housing potential
• Individuals MUST understand that if they refuse meeting with support staff the first week, then the second week of motel voucher will NOT be approved
